CRI SIGNS STRATEGIC COOPERATION AGREEMENTS WITH GUANGDONG HYDRO POWER AND JIANGSU DAFU
CRI signs strategic cooperation agreements with Guangdong Hydro Power and Jiangsu Dafu. The partnership aims to to develop the world's first hydrogen-methanol integrated equipment manufacturing project using renewable energy. As a first step in their collaboration, the partners plan to construct a 100,000 tonnes/year e-methanol plant.
CRI ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF LOTTE ROSENBERG AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Carbon Recycling International (CRI) announces the appointment of Lotte Rosenberg as its new Chief Executive Officer, following an extensive recruitment process.
At the same time Björk Kristjánsdóttir, interim CEO since June 2022, will step into a new position of Chief Operating Officer, taking on additional responsibilities alongside her role as Chief Financial Officer.
VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS IN ICELAND NEAR CRI'S GO PLANT
A volcanic eruption started in the morning of January 14th north of the town of Grindavík in Iceland. These eruptions are in proximity to CRI’s George Olah plant, the first of its kind e-methanol facility located in Svartsengi on Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula. The magma flow is not threatening the facilities in Svartsengi, and no one is in physical danger from the ongoing event.
P1 FUELS AND CARBON RECYCLING INTERNATIONAL (CRI) SIGN CONTRACT TO DELIVER E-FUEL PRODUCTION UNIT TO GERMANY
P1 Fuels has signed a contract with CRI, a global leader in clean methanol technology, for delivery of an e-methanol production unit. The collaboration focuses on integrating CRI's innovative Emissions-to-Liquids (ETL) technology with P1's proprietary methanol to gasoline technology to produce low cost e-fuels that can be used in cars without engine modification.
CRI WINS THE 'ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR' AWARD IN ICELAND
CRI was awarded the "Environmental Initiative of the Year" by the Confederation of Icelandic Enterprises.
This prestigious award was presented by the president of Iceland Mr. Guðni Th. Jóhannesson on Business Environment Day, an annual event that celebrates environmental initiatives and sustainable practices in the Icelandic business community.
CRI AND JIANGSU SAILBOAT START UP WORLD’S MOST EFFICIENT CO₂-TO-METHANOL PLANT
Carbon Recycling International (CRI) and Jiangsu Sailboat have successfully started up one of the world's most efficient CO2-to-methanol plants. Operating with CRI’s proprietary Emissions-to-Liquids (ETL) technology, the plant will produce 150,000 tonnes of sustainable, commercial-grade methanol per year.
CRI COMPLETES 30 M.USD FINANCING ROUND WITH NEW INVESTORS
CRI is pleased to announce the closing of a 30-million-dollar equity investment round that was announced at the company’s annual general meeting last year. Equinor Ventures is leading a group of new investors joining CRI’s shareholder group. Along with Equinor Ventures Gildi, Sjóvá and Lífeyrissjóður Vestmannaeyja have also participated in the investment round.
CRI AWARDED A 350.000 USD GRANT FOR TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT
Carbon Recycling International has been awarded a grant of 350,000 USD from the Icelandic Technology Development Fund for the development and engineering of the next generation of our ETL technology.
METHANOL REACTOR DELIVERED IN THE SAILBOAT CO₂ TO METHANOL PROJECT
CRI’s has successfully delivered the methanol reactor for its second commercial scale project in China. This is a major milestone in the construction of the 100.000 t/y methanol plant for the client Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemicals. The project is on track for commissioning and plant start-up during the second half of this year.
FIRST LARGE-SCALE CO₂ TO METHANOL PLANT INAUGURATED
The inauguration ceremony for the world's first large-scale CO2-to-Methanol plant took place on February 21st in Anyang, Henan province, China. The event featured speeches from both Chinese and Icelandic officials celebrating this milestone and announcements of further collaboration between the project partners.
WORLD’S LARGEST CO₂-TO-METHANOL PLANT STARTS PRODUCTION
The world’s first commercial scale CO2-to-methanol plant has started production in Anyang, Henan Province, China. The plant's production process is based on the Emissions-to-Liquids (ETL) technology developed by Carbon Recycling International (CRI) and first demonstrated in Iceland. The new facility can capture 160,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.

CRI AND JM COLLABORATE TO SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE METHANOL
Carbon Recycling International (CRI) and Johnson Matthey (JM) have agreed on a long term exclusive catalyst supply agreement for the use of JM’s KATALCO methanol catalysts in CRI’s Emissions-To-Liquids (“ETL”) designed CO2 to methanol plants. This combined offering helps meet the urgent need to remove carbon emissions in hard-to-decarbonise sectors of the economy.
THE CHEMICAL PLANT PROJECT IN CHINA WILL RECYCLE 150.000 TONS OF CO₂ PER YEAR TO MAKE MATERIALS FOR SOLAR PANELS
Chinese petrochemicals corporation Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemicals Co. ltd signed an agreement with Carbon Recycling International (CRI) to design a chemical plant based on CRI’s Emissions to Liquids (ETL) technology.
The plant will recycle approximately 150,000 metric tons of CO2 to produce 100,000 tons of methanol annually.
